Don't worry

Matthew 6:25-34; 1 Peter 5:7

My life was plagued by fear for many years. It began as a child and followed me through until I was well within my forty’s. Fear is not a friend but our enemy. The spirit of fear began to destroy my life because it caused me to be afraid of meeting new people. Fear kept me in a mode of always wanting to please others. Fear brought with it anxiety which made me nervous all the time; I developed certain tics; for example talking fast; stammering;…

Problems and Trials

1 Peter 1:6-7

In our weaknesses; JESUS is strong. In our sorrows; JESUS is our comfort. The CHRISTian life is not without problems or trials. GOD promises when we go through difficulties; HE will be with us. If we genuinely belong to JESUS even our trials will bring HIM praise. As we experience and remember conflicts in our own lives; we can share in another's affliction with true understanding. It is not so much what happens to us that causes us to rejoice but…

Wisdom from GOD

Proverbs 1:7 and James 1:5-6

There are two kinds of wisdom; which will you choose?

1.     Earthy, sensual, demonic based on envy and selfishness. James 3:15-16

2.     First pure, peaceable, gentle willing to yield; full of mercy and good fruits without partiality and without hypocrisy. James 3:17

When we ask GOD for wisdom; we can’t ask selfishly and expect GOD to give us heavenly wisdom. We can’t ask without faith and…

The importance of fellowship

Hebrews 10:24-25

What is it that we get from fellowshipping with one another? The first thing that we should be getting from each other is love. We all have stressful days at work; school or home. When we surround ourselves with our CHRISTian families we are happy to see them; we want to know about their day or week. We love on each other and in our conversation with them; we may find out that they have a need that we can meet or you may have a need that they can meet.…

GOD's Word for us

2Timothy 3:16-17

Before I share my testimony I need to share some of the words within this scripture from a dictionary stand point to help the reader of this scripture understand what GOD had done with the writers of the Bible.

1.     Inspiration/inspire: to communicate by a divine, supernatural influence.

2.     Profitable: beneficial.

3.     Doctrine:  policy, position, principal.

4.    …

GOD's Spirit gives power and love

2Timothy 1:7

It’s common opinion that CHRISTians are wimps who never have any fun because they are afraid to do anything that isn’t absolutely safe and dull. GOD does not intend for us to be afraid of living life to its fullest and trying new and daring things. For example skiing; mountain climbing; bowling; picnics; movies and such. On the contrary; GOD gives us a spirit of power; love and a sound mind. A sound mind in JESUS does not lead us to doing anything that is…

Hurt

As the proud mother of 2 wonderful children who are now adults and the grandmother of 1. I have experienced great joy and pain of motherhood. It’s apart of the experience. I must admit; I was one of those parents who would say “you don’t get an instruction manual when you birth a child.” How very wrong I was and not only that but I spent time around people who I considered to be more mature in the CHRISTian walk than I. They too agreed that there is no manual that is given to raise a…

Be a good example to others

1Timothy 4:12

To the young in age and to the young in heart; never allow anyone to despise the fact that you are young. Being young and mature are two different definitions. The young in age want so badly to be adults and the adults want to recapture their youth. Being young either in age or heart is a great gift. The young in age don’t have to deal with going to work in order to meet the finances of a home, a car note or repairs, the purchase of food and clothes and so many…

Rejoicing

1 Thessalonians 5:15-18

If you are a serious thinker much like me; you may take life much too serious. Well, though I'm still a serious thinker; I know longer take life much too serious. I now see the humor in life. So it gives me reason to rejoice. Always and I do mean always look for the humor in life. If you would view life as if it were a TV program, play or movie; you may not find it so offensive. After all 90% of programming is a lifestyle; a culture that does exist.…

Prayer Re-Assures Us

Philippians 4:6-7

Prayer has not always been a focal point of my life. I used to say to myself; “GOD knows everything, so what do I need to pray to HIM about?” I did not understand that prayer helps to form an intimate relationship between GOD and HIS child. As good parents we always want our children to share with us their joy and pain; their needs and wants; their dreams, goals and visions for their life. It’s no different with GOD. HE desires an intimate relationship with…

Forgiveness and Kindness

Ephesians 4:31-32

It amazes even me how we are more apt to forgive other before we forgive ourselves. There are things that had been done to me by others that I forgave and the things that I had done; I never addressed. Without forgiving yourself we set ourselves up for inner torture. It takes root within us and buds then blooms into ugliness that we can’t explain. It is just as important to forgive ourselves as it is to forgive others of the wrong that has been done and…

Made right with GOD

Ephesians 2:8-9

So many of us believe that we are okay with GOD because we help those who are in need. Attend church; volunteer and so forth. But these and other things that we do that is considered work or pleasure does not cut it with GOD. GOD does not sit in heaven with HIS eyes on you and give us merits for our works. There is only one way to be made right with GOD and there is absolutely no other way at all.

John 14:6 JESUS said to him “I AM…

Qualities of a Spirit filled life

Galatians 5:22-23

There was a time period of my life that I had a spirit of anger. The thing is I did not know this; all my life I had been excellent at keeping my feelings to myself. Because of this without realizing it because I never lashed out at people; I was not rude; I did not speak harm to other; I developed an internal cooking pot. I had a knack at sarcasm; I'm told that my sense of humor is dry so for the most part the only people who got what I was…

Give cheerfully

2 Corinthians 9:4-7

Right out the box; I want to establish the difference between giving and tithing.

Giving is to present voluntarily and without expecting compensation.

Tithing is a tenth of the produce of the earth consecrated and set apart for special purposes. The dedication of a tenth to God was recognized as a duty before the time of Moses. Abraham…

Newness of life

2 Corinthians 5:17

When a baby is born he/she is a clean slate with the exception of what he/she has been hard wired for. They are innocent and need to be taught. The same for the new CHRISTian they are new born babes; innocent and need to be taught. Most of us when we came to JESUS did not get that instant all purpose clean up that you and everyone who knew you could see and hear. That percentage is small; however, for the remainder of us folk; we have to be told and…

Comforting others

1 Corinthians 1:3-4

Each of us requires comfort from others. Let’s face it, the comfort we need is not going to be found from a pet; the mis-use of alcohol; drugs; food and so on. GOD has hard wired all people to need people. After all; when GOD created man, GOD noticed that man was the only one without a companion. So GOD provided Adam with a wife who would bring comfort to him. There are so many people in the world who took a left turn in life because when…
