Manna Moment - To Bind or Not to Bind

2 Corinthians 6:14 “Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?”

Good morning it is finally here, Happy Feet Friday! Alright the air is cool and a high of 61 today. We are definitely in the Fall season. Still meandering through 2 Corinthians and Paul is instructing the believers to not form binding relationships with non-believers. The key comment here is that he said not to form binding relationships with unbelievers, not to associate with unbelievers. Sometimes Christians are so very prejudice in that we abuse this very statement in that we only do things with other Christians. Yes we want to preach or teach Christ, but in our social and everyday living we become holier than thou and pretty much just prejudice. We don’t do what Christ did and hang out with liars, prostitutes, thieves and such, no we are way too good for that company. It amazes me over and over that we the good Christians are often some of the worst for judging other people. How can you influence someone for Christ, if your actions make them feel that you are so far above them? You forget that at one point you felt you couldn’t reach that level of living…. Touched a nerve anybody?

On the other hand don’t be down and dirty with them in your desire to influence them for Christ. What I mean is don’t allow their sinful behavior (which we know Satan can really present it so we are drawn in) to pull you in with them. Stand for the truth!! In your dealings with unbelievers don’t become locked into personal or business relationships that would cause you to compromise your beliefs! So if you don’t feel you are strong enough to stand for truth, then perhaps you should only be around the super saved and sanctified. Of course I wonder what does that say about the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit that you carry around within you? Are you living through His power or your own strength? Yep, I just hit you with something to make you scratch your head and say hmmmm. Happy Friday and stand for the truth in Christ!
