"To Reach Them, Teach Them and Release Them to GOD's PURPOSE."

Luke 18:39 “Those who led the way rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”  Good morning it’s Wednesday and we are half way through the week, just as it started.  That’s the great thing about 3 day weekends.  Yesterday was quite cool and today’s high is expected at 81 with rain.  Its September and a time to help your lawn and gardens recover from the hard heat of August.   Get prepared as starting Sunday night at Calvary Gospel Church (301-843-5588) will be hosting Heaven’s Gates and Hell’s Flames with all new skits.  What an awesome play and its FREE, yes I said free event.  Please come on out Sunday, Monday and Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.   Bring your family, friends and neighbors!

Today’s text deals with a man who desires healing and pushes with persistence after others tries to discourage him.  He was blind and reduced to a life of begging when he heard the crowd of people passing and wanted to know what was going on.  When they told him Jesus coming he immediately jumped up and cried out for help.  Do they push him out front so Jesus can hear see him, no instead he gets a quiet down rebuke.  Okay it’s clear here that this man has been blind for some time, so why would people discourage him from seeking the best help in town.  Often people throw water on our efforts, but you have to be as this man was persistent.  When you are in need don’t listen to the naysayers:  awe that’s not going to work, or why would such and such respond to your request.  God chooses when or whom to bless, so be like the blind man, in the wake of adversity and discouragement, be persistent in seeking God!  Have a great day!
