"To Reach Them, Teach Them and Release Them to GOD's PURPOSE."

Genesis 8:11 “When the dove returned to him in the evening, there in its beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf! Then Noah knew that the water had receded from the earth.” As I read the text I thought about how I went to bed Saturday night when the wind was howling, streets swaying before God. When I awoke on Sunday the sun was out and the only evidence of Irene in my court was leaves all over the lawn. We headed out for church it was then we saw the chaos. Down streets, power lines and no traffic lights! God was good it could have been worse. Just as Noah, his family and a pair of all the animals of the earth rode out the great flood God protected us in the same manner. After the storm a dove brought Noah evidence of God’s sovereign reign and promise. On Friday as I was driving home, I saw a very clear rainbow in the clouds, and I knew that even though Irene was on the way, that God’s covenant with us still stood! Yesterday the sun was out and people went back to getting things together. I hope that in those 12 hours, we paused, thought and thanked God for his covenant, mercy and grace! Have a blessed Monday as we have survived a week of earthquakes and hurricanes in less than 7 days! God loves us as he has not allowed any of this to destroy us! Have a blessed day in the Savior!
