JESUS - Matthew 8:28-29

When JESUS had come to the other side, to the country of the Gergesenes, there met JESUS two demon-possessed men, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that no one could pass that way. And suddenly they cried out, saying, “What have we to do with YOU, JESUS, YOU Son of GOD? Have YOU come here to torment us before the time?”

Men, women, boys and girls when I read the Bible I see five scripture references that let me know that demons know and believe in CHRIST JESUS. My question is; why don’t we? Mrk. 3:11; Lk. 4:41; Acts 16:17; Jm. 2:19. When we think of demon possession; we think of what we see when we attend the movies or what we see on television. And because we are so blinded by what our natural eyes intake we miss those who we live with; socialize with; attend school with; employed with who maybe demon possessed. Only with our spiritual eyes can we see demons and only with our spiritual ears can we hear demons. But even if for a brief moment you don’t hear or see them; why is it that when they hear or see us that they don’t recognize us? Is it because we don’t have a relationship with the FATHER and we don’t fellowship with the FATHER? I would say of course it is. How can we expect to know how to live in this world without being a part of this world if we don’t communicate with our DAD? Another reason for not being able to get recognized by demons is that we neglect to invite the Holy Spirit to come and live within us instead of coming on us when we are in major trouble. The LORD JESUS promised that HE would send us a comforter and HE has. CHRISTians who are saved and that’s it only have what I like to call “fire insurance”. Sure it keeps you from going to hell and you do have access into heaven but you could have a better policy for the same price it cost to accept your salvation. Fire insurance does not protect us from having our home burgled or flooded. Fire insurance will only pay for damages to the property caused by a fire. But when we have “Full coverage” the seal of the Holy Spirit we are endowed with power. We are protected from all things; we have the ability to hear and see what others can’t. We are possessed with a desire to delve into GOD’s Holy Word every chance we get. We long to speak with our DAD. We are able to do what JESUS did and greater than that as HE promised. So that means that when those who hang out in the dead places (the tombs) they will see us and ask the very same question that was asked of JESUS. “What have we to do with you, (your name here), you son of GOD? Have you come here to torment us before the time?” Now you may be asking this question; what are the tombs? The tombs are any place where death dwells; if you are in a place where JESUS is not being exalted; that’s a tomb. If you are in your home and you are watching television and the program is filled with sexual scenes; profanity and violence; you are in a tomb. If you hang out with folks and you know that JESUS would not want you there; you are in a tomb. Our character must reflect the life and character of JESUS in all we are. Our lives are not dull because we don’t live as non-believers live; our lives are exciting and filled with fun. We are the ones that truly know how to live because of JESUS. So don’t be a tomb dweller; walk among the living. Besides you have hung out in the tombs long enough and if you had wanted to remain there; you would have never accepted JESUS into your heart.
