Bishop Harewood was born in Charleston, South Carolina in 1958.

Melveeta answered the call to ministry in March 2002, and received the right-hand of fellowship at the Pentecostal Bridegroom Temple Church in Philadelphia under the leadership and direction of Bishop Ronald L. Young (P.A.W.) who continues to be her mentor and Father in the Gospel. Bishop Harewood was appointed to the Women’s Ministry as assistant director, she was later promoted to the Director’s position. She also served as the Director of the Outreach Ministry, assisted in the New Birth Ministry, and was a member of the Bishop’s Core Group. She has always been very active in service to the Body of Christ and received local licensing in 2003 at the Greater Pennsylvania State Council of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc.

As a member of the Greater Pennsylvania State Council, Melveeta served as the interim secretary for the Women’s Ministry, Assistant Director of the Women’s Outreach, a member of Altar Workers Ministry, and was the Assistant to the Bishop of the State Outreach Ministry. From 2005 to 2007, Bishop Harewood attended Aenon Bible College of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. In June 2006, she was elevated to the office of Evangelist and received her license from the P.A. of W., Inc. Melveeta was consecrated and ordained on June 27th 2008 by the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc., and now serves as co-pastor at Bethel Life Centre in South Bolton, Quebec with her husband. In 2009 along with her husband, Bishop David Harewood, she became a member of the Abundant Life International Fellowship, under the leadership of Archbishop Derrick L. Young.

On June 26, 2010 Pastor Melveeta Harewood was consecrated into the Holy Office of Bishop in the Lord's Church, with Full Apostolic Succession in the Abundant Life International Fellowship Inc., by the hands of Archbishop Mar Derrick L. Young D.D., J.C.D., Coadjutor Archbishop W. Anthony Bright D.D., D.Min., and Bishop David Ashlock.

In October 2010, Bishops David & Melveeta Harewood established the Bethel Life International Fellowship after seeking and receiving release from Abundant Life Int'l. Fellowship, with the blessings of Archbishop Young.
